Software Inspection Process
The increasing complexing of software coupled with the need to reduce costly bug fix releases has resulted in increased emphasis on using techniques such as Inspections. While the formal inspection process has been around for almost 30 years, use of inspections is increasing dramatically throughout the software industry as more and more companies look for ways to deliver high quality software on time.
Inspections have been shown to be far more effective
than other techniques in finding defects as early in the Development
Cycle as possible. The sooner defects are found, the less expensive they are to
correct. By applying proven Software Verification & Validation techniques, such as inspections, your teams can deliver higher quality software and meet aggressive Time to Market goals because finding defects sooner rather than later means shorter testing cycles. This half-day workshop provides your staff with practical skills needed to perform effective Inspections on Requirements, Design, Code, and Tests.

The Practice Inspection allows your staff to see what it "feels like" to participate in an effective Inspection. Additional training specifically for Moderators is also available. The intended audience for this workshop includes software engineers, and software quality engineers, and others interested in learning the Inspection Process. Examples of inspection checklists in pdf format can be downloaded from the list below: |

Tailoring
This workshop can be tailored to meet your specific needs. For example, you can
choose to have the practice inspection be either a Requirements Inspection,
Design Inspection, Code Inspection or Test Inspection. Actual documents or code
from one of your projects that can also be used for this exercise.
