Background
The Software Quality Group of New England was founded in 1994 as a special interest group of the Boston Computer
Society. From the beginning the Group has been cosponsored by the Software Division of the American Society of Quality. After the close of the Boston Computer Society in September of 1996, the Group has relied on corporate sponsors to provide a meeting place.
From October of 1996 until April of 1999, the Group was sponsored by Waterfield Technology Group of Lexington
Massachusetts. Sun Microsystems has been the corporate sponsor of the Group since May of 1999 and meetings are now
held at the Sun campus in Burlington, Massachusetts.
The group was founded by software quality consultant and ASQ Software Division Councilor (from 1994-2002) John
Pustaver who has been a director of the group since its founding.
